“If its not a heck yes than it’s a no.”

Brian is a passionate podcaster and does a lot of podcasting. He is currently the host of four podcasts and working on some additional ones behind the scenes. His purpose is to empower and encourage others from behind the mic. His business is about hosting podcasting for businesses to help save them the time.

In this episode we discuss the intricacies of the entrepreneurial lifestyle that is not an easy path and is not going to be for everyone. For Brian he simply couldn’t work the 9 to 5 job he simply had too much desire to do his own thing. Entrepreneurism comes with a lot of great freedom but equally loaded with hard work, hustle and tough challenges.

We discuss the 80/20 principle, why mindset is key, how to take calculated risks and why its important to really follow what you enjoy doing. He also believes in that to get were you want to of you need to seek our advice, guidance and coaching from those that you want to become. For him this was the likes of John Lee Dumas and Pat Flynn.

“Being and Entrepreneur is hard work and a lot of hustle.”

The episode is a really great insight into the entrepreneurial journey with many great takes outs. I hope you enjoy the show and please leave your comments and questions below. Peace, passion and purpose.

    Key Take Outs

    • Are you an entrepreneur? Important question to ask your-self if you think being an entrepreneur is an option. It is not a easy path or a quick way to make money and doesn’t suit everyone. Know yourself and understand what being an entrepreneur means.

    • Count your costs. Before starting any business it is important to analyse the risk and part of that is the cost of entry. Understand what it will cost you to start out and how long also it is before you will be able to earn an income. What is the worse case scenario?

    •  Learn from your experiences. Life’s journey is full of moments and experiences it is through these experiences can we really learn and grow. What have been some of your fundamental life experiences and how may they relate what your purpose and passion is?

    • Find joy in what you do. If you aren’t enjoying what you do change for whatever you do you should find joy in doing it. Life is simply too short to be chipping away at something that doesn’t bring you happiness.

    • Plan and live your own life. Stop following the crowd when in comes to living your life. We are all conditioned by society and the people that surround t us, which usually find us on a path that is not true to ourselves. Listen to what you desire and instead follow that path.

    • Surround yourself with wise counsel. Choose to surround yourself by wise counsel and avoid those that don’t encourage or support your dreams and vision. You will often develop to a level equal to those that you surround yourself with. Also being in connection with like minded people you will have accountability, support and knowledge.

    • Live by the 80/20 principle. 20 per cent of what you do will give you 80 per cent of the results and 80 per cent will give you 20 per cent. Focus more on those 20 per cent activities and clear the unessential tasks.

    • Coaching & Mentors. Coaching is more tasks focused while mentoring is more relationship focused. For all of us both can be very beneficial in helping us overcome hurdles, improve our skills, performance and mindset and assist us to fast track our success.

    • Paralysis by analysis. Some of us implement and some of us perfect, understand which type you are. When you over analyse things to much you may postpone of delay what it is you set out to achieve. Sometimes what may be required is a coach or partner to help fill the gaps where it is that your not strong rather than try change who you are.

“Look for somebody that has been where you want to go.”

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

He has no regrets. For all the bad times the experiences he wouldn’t change a thing.

His advice for others is comes from a book called Quitter, and is that if you are going to really venture into the entrepreneurial field quitting your job and taking that leap may not be the best option.

Be the best you no matter what you are doing just be the best at what you do.

    His interpretation of success

His definition of success firstly is do you have a good attitude and from that are you doing the journey that you’re meant to do and doing the best at what you have.
