    Key Take Outs

    • Escape to nature. Time in nature is all about creating environments of calmness in life. Not always possible for all of us to do this but certainly has some positive effects on our wellbeing. If escaping daily to a tranquil place of rest is not possible you may choose to find other daily calming practices like mediation.
    • Self-awareness & knowing thyself. This is a huge take away from this interview but really is all about become aware of who you are, your values and beliefs and trying then to live a life closer to who you are.
    • Have compassion. Being compassionate towards others in life is a great ability to have but it is equally important to have compassion for yourself. When you are compassionate for who you are you can help take some pressure of your self that will give you a greater ability to flourish. It also helps build confidence.
    • Find joy in what you do. To thrive and flourish in life we need to find joy in what we do. Do not become complacent or find ways to tune out of life but truly find joy. The 80/20 rule can apply here as not everything you do will be 100% satisfying but if majority is than you will set yourself on a wining path.
    • Looking for signposts, remain open and explore opportunities. Cathy describes her journey not as an accident but more a ad-hock approach to self discovery. By allowing yourself to be open to experiences and opportunity you will create your blueprint for a life of purpose. Don’t fall set in doing these as everyone else has done but rather explore life as your intuition guides you.
    • Status, Money ad Possessions. These are all great things in life and is a fine starting point on your journey but certainly do not fill any gaps in life. When you find purpose you being more at peace with what you are doing.
    • Keep challenging your thoughts and beliefs. In efforts to continually grow and cultivate your truth always challenge why you think and believe certain things in doing so you may realise or find new thoughts and beliefs more useful on your quest.
    • Limiting assumptions by asking questions. We discuss in this show how to overcome our limiting assumption we hold and perhaps most obviously is to question why we have them. Is there truth to the assumptions and can we find ways to replacing such truths.
    • Don’t subdue life. Don’t dull your life because you are not satisfied. So many of us myself included undertake practices to numb this life when what we really need to do is find ways to better enjoy what we are doing. This is by finding our purpose.
    • Appreciate others and our-selves. This goes back to the top point about having compassion for who we are and others. Pay others complements and at the same time, out loud, give yourself some praise.
    • Be congruent. You don’t have to live a life that is not who you are. Don’t wear a mask, don’t dress, act, talk and walk the way others expect you to. Life is so much easier when you can be who you truly are. Be congruent with what you believe and value, don’t be someone else.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?

Relax- it’s all okay! We have a entire long life to do everything.
