Summary
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.”
Michelle Cashman is a very strong and determined individual who in life has lived through some fairly sizeable challenges. At the age of 15 she found herself homeless going from couch to couch, working her way into crime and drugs Her personal story is an inspiring one and one that she opens up to in the interview.
This is a very natural flowing discussion that really revolves around personal growth, story telling to inspire and encourage hope and living life to the fullest. As a talented singer songwriter she has followed this passion however it was through the exploration of this passion she realised her greater calling and that is to help encourage and motivate others.
It’s a bit spiritual, it’s a bit opinionated but I think its real, its authentic. So take a listen and dig out your own gold and be inspired that you can do things that you want, you can make money and have a successful career all while really living and enjoying this life.

Key Take Outs
· Passion and burnout. We all have something we are passionate about and we can all, I am certain, find ways to make it a lifestyle however this may not always be the case. Sometimes by turning your passion into an income you can find yourself burnout and actual disconnect from the reason why you do it. Sometimes your passion may just be something you do for the love of it. Equally, by following your passion you may find other even deeper callings in life.
· Know the why. The show all about understanding why. Why do you do things and the real reason behind everything you do? If you have a compelling enough reason why your doing something you will create a healthily level of enthusiasm towards life. Know the why and if you don’t or if its not strong enough perhaps its not really true to your core.
· Less is more & the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rule describes that 80 percent of what you do gives you 20 percent of the results and visa versa. So this means that less can be more. Focus on the things that count, that actually produce results and clear the plate of all the crap. You will find you do have time to have a happy balance in life or work, family and personal freedom.
· Questions, ask questions. We’ve been here before and the reality is that questions are powerful. Ask questions and the answer will come. This is a sure fire way to fast track your life.
· Step by step transformation. The best way to eat and elephant is one bite at a time. Focus on the fist next step and when you’ve done there take the next one. Don’t become overwhelmed and anxious about the end goal, just focus on that next step.
· Clear your daemons. Empty the bag of bricks. Most of us are held down by some kind of baggage and like carrying around a dirty old bag of bricks, this emotional connection to the past can be very debilitating to advancing in your life and success. Find ways to empty that bag, ask for help if you need to, the result will be absolutely freeing.
· Embrace your story. Final message of this chat was that you need to know your story and embrace it. Embrace your truth and be and live to who you are and how you want to be.
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
She believes that if it weren’t for all her experiences to date, she would have not been able to grow to the point she is at now. No regrets. If she hadn’t had messed things up herself she wouldn’t have the same compassion for others as she does today.
Her interpretation of success
Success is living a sustainable life. Being able to support my passions and use my experience, strength and hope to inspire others.
Success is being able to connect with people on a deeper level and get a lot of joy in the process.
Success is being able to balance joy and purpose both financially and health wise.
