Summary
Rossco Paddison has lead a pretty successful life. Having made millions at a very young age he thought he had it all until one afternoon rather than driving into his garage he reversed back out in tears. “Is this what life’s all about”, he thought to himself. Not long after that he lost it all and found himself with some serious money problems.
Thankful he has overcome them and learnt some great lessons in the process. He now has a couple of very successful companies that keep him busy and passionate.
More recently, his interest in crowdfunding, a thriving $34 billion dollar a year industry, has taken him to running a successful $42,161 campaign called “Entrepreneurs Of The Future” that has generated 421 scholarships for teenagers.
Now he has personally embarked on a mission to help countless others by building a crowdfunding platform, Gather Change, to support their crowdfunding journey, too.
In this conversation we discuss how to transform your heartbreak into your passion, how to live up to your purpose and use what greatness you’ve been given, crowdfunding ideas, social initiatives and much, much more.
Guys & girls. Enjoy! Peace, passion & purpose.
Key Take Outs
- Comfort and distraction. The two killers of progress. If you become to comfortable in whatever life you live you may lack motivation to seek any further learning, improvement or growth. If you are distracted by the reality that exists all around us, you will also loose track of the direction that you should and desire to take. We all have reasons we just need to discover them.
- What forces externally to yourself bring you the greatest heartbreak? Why is it so? Connect with this, ponder this question, dig dip, and then set out to make change in this area. This will fulfil you with greater passion and purpose in life.
- Discover you and live to your full potential. If you lack the motivation and feel as thought you have given up then find something that you are passionate about in whatever you are currently doing and start making decisions again. Making decisions help raise motivation. This might just be a kick in the bum you need to start living towards your greatest dreams once again.
- Intrinsic and extrinsic values. If you are more intrinsically inclined than what you do, you do so for self-fulfilment and gain. If you are extrinsically aligned you may wish to seek to help others for satisfaction. We often have a mixture of both however you may lean oneway more deeply.
- Constantly redesign yourself. Ask yourself these questions, “Is this where I want to be in life?”, “Is this who I am?”, “Is this satisfying my purpose?”, & “What is my greater why?”
Do you have any routines and rituals that you believe contribute to your success?
Constantly redesigning myself.
What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Save $100 a week for the next 12 years and you’d be a lot richer than what you might otherwise get by trying all these other ventures. Manage your money better and understand the benefits of compound interest.
