Little Moments

“Little moments, BIG memories.” Fergus Connolly
It is often the little things in life that give us the greatest meaning and go on to form BIG memories. What do you really appreciate? What things bring you great joy? Is it the moments by the campfire with the family playing charades? The smell of coffee in the morning? A crisp ale in the afternoon while chatting with friends? The experience of heading to the airport ready to board a ship to another place? The sound of gravel under your shoes as you walk?
The big events in life matter however it is often the little things along the way that add up to make our experiences somewhat extraordinary. I remember a time camping with the family that for an entire day it poured with rain. We were all huddled together in a small space under the tarp. It was those moments we shared under that tarp that bought joy and created amazing memories of that trip despite the unruly weather conditions.
We have to hold on to the little moments and to do that we need to be present. Avoid the distractions that draw our attention away from the moment because it is in those moments, that if missed, we may weaken the memories of this life that we experience.
