Allow Life To Emerge Naturally – Not By Force
What if rather than trying to force everything that we desire in life we allow it to flow naturally? Would that bring about more abundance with less anxiety, stress and obstacles along the way?
The more I reflect on my past and those things that I tried to force into my life the more I believe that a forceful approach may not be the best approach. The greatest events or achievements that I have had in life have been those that have almost arisen without any force.
When we chase the dollar, the house, the promotion, the love of our life what we are doing is trying to bring about change that is without our control. We try influence reality by force rather than allowing reality to breathe and rise through us. (more…)
Do We Have Choice Over The State of Our Being?
Do you think we all have choice as to our state of being? Is how you want to be in life ultimately our individual choice or are we subject to our circumstance or the true nature of things? As I ponder on this I ask myself is there a difference in choice in life and free will? Does free will exist?
I believe that regardless of our circumstance, situation, up-bringing of indeed our genetic make-up we all have choice as to how we be in life. This does not mean we have choice necessarily in where we live, the quality of life we have, or the people that exist within our lives. It does not mean we have control over time, let alone the time we have within this body that we’ve been given. In my thought it is about choice of how we are internally despite all that exists externally.
If being is a state of mind then does it not make sense that we are in control of that state. Is there external control, force or even biological influence over how our mind thinks? Is how we think a direct cause of influence on our state of being, our state of existence?
The mind connects with the body and our body to the outside world. Anything that impacts us externally, often through our human senses, will be therefore directly processed and interpreted by the mind. This highlights that our mind creates our reality. While for much of how our mind processes and interprets the messages our body receives from the external world remains common among us all how it affects our state of being is individually very unique.
There are certain ways our bodies react based on the interaction with stimuli within its current environment that cannot be controlled. If you are cut by a blade you will bleed. If your nose smells something it smells. It your eyes see something they see. Our human senses are the way our body communicates with the mind.
You may flinch if you are frightened but if you were fully aware would that still be the case. I think we jump in fright when our senses are not prepared nor awake. Yet ultimately whatever the situation or state of awareness our senses react to the world which we are without control, unless of course a particular sense does no longer function.
I believe we do have choice about how our mind interprets the information the body sends to it and therefore I believe we do have ultimate choice in who we choose to be. If happens is an ultimate state of being that we all desire, how much is our own doing?
Do You Find Yourself Always Waiting in Life? 5 Rules To Improve Your Waiting
I was standing in line wondering if it was worth the wait. How often do you have that feeling? I see queues everywhere! I am an impatient man and to me waiting sucks!
There a lines everywhere, would you agree? I see them at the bus stops, at the cookie stand, at the movies, at the bathroom, I see them even when people are waiting to give away their money to pay a bill. Fucking seriously! Why wait?
Ok, so I get that there may be some excitement that comes by waiting. I have been in queues at amusement parks and see the love and excitement on the young children’s faces as they eagerly prepare themselves for the fright of their day. That’s time well spent. But all that time spent when these feelings don’t exist to me is wasted time. Here is what I know about waiting and this relates to waiting for your life to begin.
#1. Waiting is just delaying what you want to eventuate.
#2. Waiting is depriving yourself of life.
#3. Waiting is a disrespectful use of time.
#4. Waiting is a belief that whatever will come will give your more.
#5. Waiting is only a step closer to the end.
I could go on but I will refrain. I have no patience. I like to have things when I want it and the time spent getting there needs to be well used. If not, then it is the old case of sacrifice now for hopeful benefits to come. I believe in waiting we are not purposeful and this is an unwise way to use the time that we have been given.
Think about it. When in did our ancestors wait and what did they wait for? The further you go back the more you might realise that perhaps they didn’t wait. This I can only attribute to the fact that they didn’t have all the privileges that are thrown in our face every moment these days.
They may have waited for the rains to stop, they may have waited for the trees to bare fruit, they may have waited for new life. What they didn’t do is wait for an extrinsic factor of life in hope that it would bring them more. I feel I have to be careful in my wording here. There is no need to wait for a moment that will raise your levels happiness. Happiness is already there.
The reason why most of us wait is for this pure reason. We want to have that feeling. A feeling of relief, a feeling of satisfaction. We want to experience a certain thing or we want to realise a certain state. Yet in waiting we delay! We may miss opportunities that could have been had by not wasting our time standing idly in line.
I was really early arriving at the airport, the reason why I write this post. I thought about the use of time as it relates to being somewhere that I don’t need to be well ahead of time. Then the thought came to me. I checked-in. I was the first there and had no wait time at all. This was a first. Previously my thought was to arrive right before check-in closed, that way I would be saving time and cursing through the process with little delay. This is not the case.
The longer you wait the longer the queue and therefore the longer the wait. I have found myself over and over again waiting in lines to catch a plane but on this day it was different. I got to check-in quick, wasting no time in lines and therefore allowing more time for myself. It is apparent that I had a few hours prior to boarding but those few hours were mine to have, not to be spent in a line. I can use that time with much more grace and purpose.
Here is what to do.
#1. Ask yourself why. Why is it so important to you to be waiting? Is there something else you could be better doing or is there something else that could get you ahead of the line?
#2. Once you know why ask yourself, “is there a more efficient way?” Often we just follow suit, doing what the crowd does. How could you get what you desire quicker?
#3. If waiting is a must how could you use your waiting time most effectively? It is often the case that when we wait we immediately write of the opportunities that might exist. This could include potential to network, enjoy the company you are with or doing some work. Technology allows as to get things done these days while waiting.
#4. Check out what the successful people do. When I say successful I mean to look at those that have avoided the wait. How have they fast tracked the result? Observation is a great thing and you may just discover a few tricks.
#5. Do you really need it? This relates to the first rule and that is the why. How by waiting will this truly make your life better? Is there something that you could be doing to better use your time?
Time is time. We only have so much of it and we all have the same amount of time each day. How we use that time is important. Make sure you use your time to live the life you desire. Don’t wait for what you want!
Let Your Heart Be Your Guide to How You Live Your Life
Just like you heart pumps life around the body so does it create thoughts and emotions that direct how we live our life. I believe that my heart has been something I have often left behind in favour of logic or thought that has caused misdirection in my own life. If the heart is the true centre of our thoughts and emotions, and the most direct connection to our soul then perhaps we should listen to it more. If the heart is love, then love I would guess would be a much more powerful guide to one’s life than anything else.
I am no love expert but I know that my heart has been a worthier guide in my life than logic has ever been. Perhaps logic has kept me safe in certain situations and there have been many a time that I’ve done, spontaneously so, actions that haven’t been the wisest. Decisions in life are not always easy. Some people struggle over the decision of what to wear or eat, or how to muster the energy to get out of bed. These can seem like simple decisions to make, yet they can all have consequence to some level in our lives.
Happiness Is Developed Within: Forget All That Superficial Surface Shit
Happiness is not found externally. I believe this to be true. After years of relying on extrinsic needs to fulfil a momentary pleasure of happiness I was finding myself no closer to true happiness.
Some people argue that happiness is not always possible because at times there is going to be struggle and heartache. I don’t deny this, life can be tough, however perhaps our perception on happiness is distorted. Maybe we are delusional on what true happiness is.
Is happiness just all smiles, laughter, fun and being with the people you love? Sure, these moments are great but if we rely on them for happiness when we are without we may feel a little lacking or empty. Ice-cream is delicious yet we don’t eat it all the time. Can you still feel satisfied without it? The answer is an obvious yes.
Beauty is not just based on appearance it is found much deeper within. The same goes for happiness, surface happiness will not make things more happy if the internal works are not in order.
When we are content within we can be more at ease at time that we are without. We can handle moments of trauma, struggle, and pain with greater ease. Contentment is an inner state of happiness.
This means that even without a certain thing or situation you will be satisfied. By understanding yourself deeply and how you interrelate and exist within the external world you will have greater awareness. An object is nothing but stimuli to create perception of how we feel and therefore how we actually feel is nothing but a creation of ones own mind.
If this is the case, and I believe it is, then we can create a sense of calm, happiness, and contentment even when our circumstance are not totally desirable. Being happy is not then a matter of when you a with or without it is a simply a state of being. Even in adversity you will better realise that the moment is the moment and internally you still are who you are, nothing has changed there.
This is why if you are not truly happy as you are right now the best place to focus your attention and do the work is on the inner self.
Say What You Want to Say – Express Yourself Today
Sometimes we are afraid to say what we want to say. Sometimes we put off expressing ourselves in ways we really should, could or want to.
Who have you been meaning to reach out to? Who have you been wanting to tell that you love them? Who is it that you want to tell your story to? What is it the you want to say and how do you want to say it?
I think today and everyday there is something more that I can say. I believe yesterday there was something I didn’t say that perhaps I could have.
Saying what I feel and expressing who I am shouldn’t be something to be fearful of. When we are true to how we feel why live in worry about the response we receive from how we express ourselves?
The fear of expression is the consequence that may result from the message we share. There is fear about being to open and vulnerable.
If the feeling in the moment is one with anger, hate or resentment perhaps then should we be cautious, not cautious of the message held within yet rather the audience you choose to direct it towards. An expressed emotion is better than an unexpressed one.
The attachment to emotions will only cause suffering and an emotion that remains unexpressed may lead to regret.
We all need to be heard and there are many ways, art forms and tones that we can communicate our message, choose your own.
Importantly, don’t wait to be asked to be heard because tomorrow it may be too late.
Start today. Tell someone how much you love them, how much you appreciate them. Tell someone how you feel. Tell someone you care. Tell someone what you think about the state of the world, the deliciousness of the bagel you just ate, your passion or the thought that just consumed your mind.
Put your thoughts into words today. I can assure you someone will listen and when they do you will be heard. Until then don’t delay, don’t be hesitant, because who you are and how you feel is a priority in life, and regret is detrimental. We all desire to be visible so allow yourself and give yourself permission to free expression.

We are the world that we live, we are our reality.
On the opposite spectrum of the scale if you start the day out with a smile, some healthy exercise and food you will no doubt continue through the day in this realm.
For either of these two methods we have the choice. How do you want your day to travel?
A Thought on Happiness: Found Internally Not Externally
As I grow and experience this life I gain more happiness. This may not have been the case if I didn’t take my own initiative to make significant change in my life. It is my belief that for many of us as we depart our parents bracing arms and the support of schooling life into a world of independence and adulthood, and as we do we become less happy as time passes.
I have never been happier and while I could list out a number of defining factors and reasons for this the one that infiltrates my thoughts today is that I have become more inwardly focused. This is not from a level of selfishness, quite the contrary actually. I feel as though I have become even more selfless in the focus inwardly on my own happiness.
Does your mind race, bend, warp, cry, heal, struggle, dream, stare, criticise, accumulate, create, repeat, repeat, repeat? It is hard to keep control of the mind. Many have described the mind as being like a drunken money stung by a scorpion. Its so hard to tame the overwhelmed mind and as modern society pushes into new realms, increasing quicker every single day, the easier it is to become swept away in the chaos.
My mind is constantly in motion. I like to slow it with alcohol with a belief that would help it rest and it does but not in he healthiest way. I still like the idea of letting go of all control in a drunken state but perhaps there are better ways to do this. Ideas, thoughts and visions are constantly circling my mind, I am a creative type and no that I am not alone. We all have thoughts that overwhelm us whether its a creative thought or other – they can consume us so intensely that we become less effective.
Happiness Runs in a Circular Motion
“Happiness runs in a circular motion
Thought is like a little boat upon the sea
Everybody is a part of everything anyway
You can have everything if you let yourself be.”These profound words have been guiding my whole life, particularly the last line— “you can have everything if you let yourself be”. This line reminds me of a verse from the bible Matthew 6:33 that says: “Seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
My interpretation of these two quotes is that within is a place of heaven—happiness—and if we have happiness within then we experience happiness in every aspect of our daily life, thus we truly have everything.
