Drinking
“Worthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live.” Socrates
Here is a thought on drinking. My problem with drinking or drinkings problem with me. I still don’t have it figured out but here to trying. I feel that what I share is relevant to our attempts to remove any habits that are non-conducive to a life of more profound happiness and joy. And I believe it starts by knowing our ‘Why.’ Enjoy!
Oh, it was inspired by an article I wrote – you’ll find it here. (more…)
Summary
In this episode, I speak with Jon Dwoskin – an executive advisor, business coach and motivational speaker who’s been called the “business whisperer” for his skilled and compassionate insights into what can keep a corporate culture from thriving. We talk about how to take a business from unstuck to thriving with a particular focus on the importance and methods of creating and using detailed plans. Something for everyone within.
At age 23, he created one of the first internet marketing companies in America, then went on to great success at several national commercial real estate firms. Jon has built, trained, expanded and restructured both sales teams and corporate structures, but after 20 years in a C-suite, knew it was time to make a business out of being himself. (more…)
Psyched Up: How the Science of Mental Preparation Can Help You Succeed
“Happiness doesn’t depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude.” Dale Carnegie
Daniel McGinn says that our success and failure in life is often determined by a few crucial moments and it is in those moments we need to perform at our absolute best. In this book, the author McGinn shares some scientific findings and other observations that assist people in raising energy, reducing anxiety and boosting confidence before an important performance or opportunity. The Abundance Project
“Life only has one agenda and that is for the ever-expanding expression and giving of itself. The nature of life is infinite and inexhaustible so life already has everything so there is no principle or motivation in life to get to anything.” Derek Rydall
In this episode, I have a really cool conversation with Derek Rydal in regards to his latest book The Abundance Project. (more…)
The James Altucher Show
James Altucher is the king of vulnerability and the weirdest looking guy in the entrepreneurial space that I know. That’s only a couple of reasons why I love this guy. I was first introduced to James through his blog and from there, our relationship blossomed. Man crush, yes indeed. He is one guy I’d just love to sit down with and talk to about anything and everything.
Now, that might make it all sound like a bit of a waste of time. However, James is an intelligent dude with incredible stories, experiences and very well connected. (more…)
Complacency
“The tragedy of life is often not in our failure, but rather in our complacency; not in our doing too much, but rather in our doing too little; not in our living above our ability, but rather in our living below our capacities.” Benjamin E. Mays
Complacency is a bitch. It’s like a double-edged sword. The dictionary defines it as have an uncritical or smug sense of satisfaction with oneself or one’s personal achievements. Nothing wrong with that, is there? Perhaps there is. Complacency may be a cause of ignorance and can result in a slowing of progress. I think for that reason it may even take us towards stagnation. Why can’t we be pleased with our current achievement and ourselves? Firstly, I believe that a heavy focus or smugness with self is a cause for the majority of our suffering. Secondly, complacency is a major cause of human error. What are your thoughts and stories of complacency?
