432 A Life With No Regrets
“If I were to look back on my life would I have regret for how I am living my life today?”
Not so long ago for me, life didn’t make much sense. I couldn’t make sense of what I was doing or where I was heading. I really started to wonder that if this is how my life would continue for the next 5, 10, 20 or even 30 what would be the point of it all.
And as I pondered this thought I knew I had to do something to change. The paths that I was on weren’t giving me a great deal to be excited about and I didn’t want to look back on my life regretting it. I may be absolutely wrong but I get the feeling that I am not alone. (more…)

Scott Turner is Professor of Biology at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) in Syracuse, New York. His principal research focus is the emergence of superorganismal structure and function in the mound building termites of southern Africa, but this is motivated by a larger interest in the interface between physiology, evolution, and design. He is the author of two acclaimed books: The Extended Organism. The Physiology of Animal-Built Structures (2000) and The Tinkerer’s Accomplice. The cumulative effect. Accumulation derives from the Latin work “pile up.” The cumulative effect is essentially that, the accumulation of an effect caused by repeated action, behaviors, or thoughts that become more pronounced as time progresses.
Think of it as the snowball effect. As the small ball begins to roll down the hill it expands in size at an ever increasing rate until it becomes a large mass of accumulated snow. Everything in life that we repeatedly do can have this effect with results both favorable in unfavorable outcomes. (more…)
