    This is a read that I really didn’t expect. It is a different take and approach on success from what you may expect and certainly worth a read.

    Dr. David R. Hawkins is a renowned physician, lecturer and researcher of consciousness, which is the state of being aware and responsive to one’s surroundings. If we can only be more aware of ourselves internally and how we respond to external happenings may then we attain more success.

    Dr. Hawkins concepts seem very much common sense, including business and psychological behaviours that help propel success, however along the journey to success we loose touch with them. The idea is to gain consciousness and become aware that will then assist us in discovering true success.

  • Don’t put your dreams on hold, put your excuses on hold. Summer Braken

     

    In this episode I share a little piece of magic that I’ve applied in my own life to take greater action – quicker. It’s called the 5 Second Rule.

    The key for us to free ourselves from the shackles of the life we no longer wish to live in efforts towards living the life we desires is  taking action. The problem is we often find ourselves making excuses, procrastinating and waiting to do so.

    We as humans have a tendency to complicate things. When I refer to things I really refer to all aspects of life, our mind, our thoughts, our voice, our actions and our behaviours. We are so good at it that in fact we have become less effective and when we are less effective we are not as good as living life as it is meant to be lived – with peace, passion and purpose.

    Here are my thoughts on why we complicate things:

    1.     When we don’t receive the rewards that we desire we add more to the mix. More things to do in hope more will bring greater results. In this sense more is more, when in fact more is less. (more…)

    Tom Corley understands the difference between being rich and poor: at age nine, his family went from being multi-millionaires to broke in just one night, due to a catastrophic fire that destroyed his Dad’s thriving business. For fourteen years they struggled with poverty. Due to this Tom had a limited mindset when it came to money and wealth.

    Driven by the desire to unlock the secrets to success and failure, Tom spent five years studying the daily activities of 233 rich people and 128 poor people. He discovered that there was an immense difference between the habits of the rich and poor. During his research he identified over 300 daily activities that separated the “haves” from the “have nots.” Tom decided to write a book, Rich Habits, that went on to become an Amazon Bestseller in the United States. He has written 2 more since then called, Rich Kids and Change Your Habits, Change Your Life.

    Naturally, in this episode we discuss these habits. The behaviors and activities that will determine the level of success you have in life. Two keystone habits we discuss are daily self-improvement and the importance of quality relationships. We also discuss the difference between dream setting and goal setting.

    In this episode I chat to you about the 3 P’s as they relate to living a life that your desire and once with greater success. They are persistence, patience and perseverance.

    The journey to the success you desire is not going to be overnight. Life is a journey however the lessons I have learnt is that in attempting to achieve all that desire being patient and persistence have been key. If you can learn to persevere through the tough times, which you will meet along the way, you will be in a better position to achieve all that you desire.

    The average read less than a book a year. If you want to remain average than do what the average do. If you want to exceed the average, the status quo than take the action that they are not willing to take.

    Reading is one of these actions or behaviours that I can assure you will change your life. It has done mine and for that I am sure it can for anyone else.

    If you just read for 20 minutes a day that would equate to 20, 200 page books each year. Thats 19 ahead of the average alone – so get reading.
