Life’s Golden Ticket: A Story About Second Chances
“Grant me the strength to focus this week, to be mindful and present, to serve with excellence, to be a force of love.” Brendon Burchard
Are you just starting out on your personal transformational journey? If so, this book may be just the prefect starting point. Brandon shares a story of second chances. This is not a typical structured self-help book running through the does and donts of personal transformation – it is a story that takes you on a roller coaster ride.
Without giving too much of the magic of this book away I will focus on some of the key points and then reflect as to why its message is magic. Brendon tells a tale that I believe relates to his own personal journey of transformation. He puts it in a story format that makes for a really easy read. For those just starting out or tempting to make change to embark on their own personal transformation journey, the self-help industry can sometimes be a little off putting. Brendon’s book I feel helps overcome this obstacle.
“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” Confucius
In this episode I am to inspire you to observe and imitate those that you admire and aspire to be, so to help fast track your success. Remember when following in the footsteps of your heroes, those greats that so inspire you, take what really connects and resonates with you. Choosing a mix of mentors is a great way of taking the best from them all.
Do not benchmark your success or what you can achieve or certainly how you will achieve it on others, but rather watch them and learn the skills, techniques and practices that will help you on your journey. This is how children learn so quickly and greatly so perhaps we could adopt this process. Important however to be your own person and be authentic.
Enjoy and leave your thoughts here. Peace, Passion and Purpose.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schawrtz
“Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.” David J. Schawrtz
Well if you have read any of my other stuff you will know that I am a big thinker and even bigger dreamer. I think all the time and thus why I find it easy to sit and write.
Thinking compared to thinking big differs in that it is more a focus on the way you think. After reading this book I feel the author would hope that you will gain ideas, principles and tools for training your thoughts to help you lead a more successful life.
You are what you think; believe you can succeed and you will.
“You can cooperate and not compromise your core values. But I’m a realist with the philosophy that sometimes you’ve got to take bites out of the apple instead of the whole apple.” Jason T. Smith
Having interviewed hundreds of people for this show, a common theme that keeps presenting itself is the idea that we need to make compromise in life. It goes with the principle that to get more of something we have to give more of something.
Therefore in life if you want more of something you may have to give up or give more of something else. Can we have it all – yes, I believe we can. However, we may have to sacrifice some aspect of life now in order to live with a greater quality of life later.
I believe however that we must not compromise our values and beliefs, but rather make compromises in life so that we live more closely aligned with these values and beliefs today.
I hope you can enjoy my thought and that it helps you along your journey. Peace, passion & purpose.
