    Success in Life Come From Dedication Across All Disciplines

    Continual commitment to improve across all areas of life is a desirable trait. It is what builds one’s character. It is in the actions that one discovers and evolves their why. It is the glue of life. It is the what gives us meaning, what assists us to remove suffering and raise happiness in life, it is the magic of life. Where does one focus their attention?

    The truth is that any practices that assist us to grow and progress in life are beneficial. There are indeed thousands of practices that bring rise to the same or similar results. The practice you choose must be out of what is of priority for you in your life right now and also for what works for you in your current situation.

    We are all different in nature and in nurture and for that reason not one rule applies to us all. What is critical is that we constantly seek to improve ourselves. A lack of focus or effort in regards to our personal development will be characterised by focus and effort given to areas of life that are not beneficial for one’s overall wellbeing.

    If we desire to improve we must first remove our opinions, judgements and perspectives. When these are locked we limit or even defect our growth. Whether you seek improvement by working with a teacher, reading books, or experience, practice and repetition, if you are not open to what is presented to you, the learning will not be gained.

    An open mind brings to the person that possess it greater glory. A closed mind brings in nothing new and remains the same. This may lead to complacency and even stagnation. It will hinder growth and be of disadvantage to those in times of change – and everything changes.

    It may be wise to dedicate a large part of your life to becoming a master in one particular discipline. That is fine. What you spend most of your time working on you will likely master. There are other factors to be considered.

    For example, if your passion and interest is strong in what you commit to your learnings and skill in that field will be more greatly and rapidly improved. The complexity of the field of work also plays an integral role. There are certain advantages that may assist some and not others out of life circumstance that comes without control. Some might call this luck.

    For whatever the case life is not bound by a single discipline, it is vast. Many people may become highly successful at their art yet still live a relatively dissatisfied existence. No matter how great our art is or becomes if we are not aware, open and willing to improve in other aspects of our lives they may just bring us to defeat in multiple ways.

    Many people are remembered for their amazing achievements within their particular discipline of work but those who are remembered even more greatly are remembered so based on how well they lived their life. How well we live our life requires understanding, purposeful action and balanced improvement across all areas of life.

    Freedom, fulfilment and happiness will not be accomplished by mastery of one skill or achieving one goal. It will come by achieving a coherent blend across all life principles.

    The impact you can have by dedicating your life to one discipline of work can be of great value to others and allow you to leave this world having had great impact. The quality of your life’s journey will be majorly enhanced, including to those who you share it with along the way, by your composure, wisdom and balance in all areas of life.

    Where should we look for growth, how do we find balance and what should I be focusing on next? There are many areas in life that we can heed towards however there are six in particular that will benefit us all most greatly. Those are in the areas of health, growth, relationships, expression, significance and contribution.

    There are many practices, formulas and ways to go about finding improvement in each of these areas and where you start is really based on where you are now. It is common that you will be stronger already in some areas and weaker in others.

    The way to balance is to focus on those that need the most urgent attention, that becomes the basis for how you prioritise your practice and actions. If health is an area that is suffering increase your attention in that realm. Seek practices that fit your lifestyle. Ask questions, search for answers and learn. Make sure your day is filled with actions that help to improve you in this area. Practice self-control.

    What usually occurs when we began to focus our attention on one area we drop the ball in another area. To keep the balance requires practice. If this seems to be an area of struggle rest assured you will improve here, too. Just return to the other area and practices within and keep juggling your activities around until they are in harmony and of solid routine.

    It is a common misconception that by focusing on certain areas of life that need improvement that the quality of your life’s work will decline. It may be the case initially as one adjusts however as one finds the balance it will absolutely enhance their art and life’s work.

    It is not what we achieve in our life, the goals we set and accomplish, the promotions, the completed tasks, the possessions we accumulate that make success – it is how well we live our life. That comes by dedication across all disciplines. It comes from seeking constant improvement in all areas of life. Here is to you!
